Biography
Jennifer completed her Neuroscience degree at the University of Lethbridge in May 2013. She began working for Polaris in 2011 as an independent study student with Dr. Aaron Gruber, and continued working with the Gruber lab as a Research Assistant with the main responsibilities of operating experiments and learning how to construct hyper-drives. Her knack for building drives lead her to complete an applied study during the summer of 2012, in which she created an in-depth instruction manual on constructing hyper-drives for future students interested in learning the drive building process. In the spring of 2013, she completed another independent study course, in which her concentration was building hyper-drives using new materials/techniques. During the summer of 2013, Jennifer began working with the McNaughton lab as Research Assistant, in which she continued building drives using advanced recording materials, such as Uwe Thomas glass electrodes. In September of 2013, she was promoted to a Research Technician with the main responsibility of managing the Polaris Hyperdrive room while continuing the construction of high density recording technologies. She also plans to continue learning new data analysis techniques to further her technician skills.
